The 2007 "An Evening With Friends" event was held on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at the Moose Lodge in Selma.  Wanda Ward, Jim  Hadaway and Don Estes (all from Soutnside's Class of 1974) developed the idea for the event and hosted it for our Southside Alumni. The Event was an overwhelming success, exceeding all expectations!  182 people attended!  Festivities started at 8PM with a social hour where everyone brought a dish (finger food or dessert) to share.  There was so much food, additional tables were brought out.  The band, Kickin Kountry (included Jim Vansandt and Rocky Howell who attended Southside in the 1970s), played from 8:30PM to 12:45AM, taking only one break (Wow!).  Everyone who attended commented on how terrific the band was--an excellent choice, and great opportunity for Jim and Rocky to show their friends and former classmates how accomplished the band has become over the years. A 50/50 Raffle was held and Shelly Larson won it (...you will recall that Shelly also won the digital camera for the raffle at the 2005 Reunion; Congratulations, Shelly!).  The other half of the 50/50 was intended to help keep the www.SouthsideReunion.com web site up and running, and will be donated for that cause.  After speaking with several people that attended the event, they said people attended from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana, and that is was so much fun that another one will surely be done in the future.  If you attended, we would like your feedback on the event.
